About us

The Casa Estudi team is small and close-knit. Each person contributes their gesture, their perspective and their way of working, shaping a living place where technique, research and sensitivity coexist. Individual contributions are integrated into a coherent and constantly evolving project.

Casa Estudi was founded by Caterina Roma and Miquel Masgrau, starting from a space with a strong character that has been gradually built and defined. Over the years, people have joined who share a common attention to process, to the time of making, and to the quality of the object.

The exhibition space coexists with the studio within the same site; in the former farmhouse, Caterina Roma’s artistic practice unfolds in constant dialogue with its surroundings. More about what happens behind the scenes can be discovered on her website.

About the space

It began with the place: Ca l’Humà, in Púbol. Caterina Roma established her studio there, and from that point on, the exhibition project gradually unfolded, allowing decisions to emerge from a dialogue with the surroundings and the needs of the space itself.

The journey expanded through a slow and patient process, built over time and work, until becoming what it is today: a reference gallery for art and craftsmanship in the Empordà.

At Casa Estudi Caterina Roma, practice and exhibition coexist: the artist’s own work alongside a selection of pieces and collections linked to the craft, chosen for their quality, singularity and rigor. A space conceived as a journey, where each room offers a perspective on material and contemporary making.
