Art Experiences
Originating in 16th-century Japan for firing tea ceremony wares, Raku is a firing technique that produces surprising and unpredictable effects. The pieces are removed from the kiln while red-hot and subjected to a process of rapid reduction and cooling.
During the workshop, each participant will decorate, glaze, and fire two pieces chosen from the available options, which they can take home after the session.
No experience is necessary!
Includes: A guided session with a ceramicist from Caterina Roma’s team. All materials and tools. Firing and glazing of the pieces. Tea, homemade refreshment, or infused water, depending on the season and weather.
